New development

TATRA-YUG Joint Venture is an owner of novel technology in construction and updating of tram tracks by using wide-plane track plates. In cooperation with other enterprises of Ukraine our enterprise developed and organized the industry of webless rails, special rubber strips and fixing rubber for laying and pressing of rails as well as reinforced concrete plates of a special design.

TATRA-YUG owns patent No 25054 for the invention of a new type of rail, has a full set of technical documents, and it is ready to execute orders. The use of a new design of tram tracks makes it possible to solve the following problems:

this design serves as a good covering for traffic of off-track vehicles in combined road sections;

service life of rails and of the road superstructure is increased (warranty service life of plates is 25 years, their original appearance being preserved);

noise and vibration are reduced essentially, and, hence, a more comfortable travel is provided, harmful effects on the roadbed, bridges and viaducts as well as adjacent buildings and installations are reduced;

a generation of stray currents is excluded and, as a result, an electric corrosion of under-ground service lines is prevented;

a wear-and-tear of mechanical and electrical parts of the rolling stock is reduced owing to the shock absorbtion of rails laid on rubber tie plates all over the length;

the extent of mechanization and labor productivity in construction and repair of a track are raised essentially.

Original cost of work in construction of such tracks exceeds the cost of traditional designs but this justifies itself well in operation as, in addition to above-mentioned advantages, no maintenance costs are involved actually in such designs.
