K-1M8 tramcar
In 2006 TATRA-YUG Joint Venture made a three section's tram-car, type K-1M8, with low level of floor in the middle section (360 mm above a head of a rail). The tramcar sections are jointed by swivel devices assembled on the motion cart. The transitive furs with rotary circles are installed in transitions between the tramcar sections.
Constructive decisions and the modern technologies used at manufacturing of the tramcar, provide its reliability in operation.
The tramcar is equipped with two traction motors of IJBT type operating from the control panel of the driver.
Service life of the body is increased essentially due to the manufacture of the most corrodent components from stainless steel and composites as well as due to the use of antirust and paint coats made by advanced European companies.
A static power converter is used in the tram-car for a reliable supply of board low-voltage systems. It also employs IJBT transistors. An updated current collector as well as a radio information device with a digital sound-recording system are mounted.

MOTION CARTS
These have simple and rational structure. Wheel, sprung with rubber elements, provide silent and quiet run. Traction motors are placed on the carts and are coupled with reducers through cardan shafts.
BRAKES
The car is equipped with the following types of brake:
electrodynamics brake;
mechanical disk brake;
electromagnet rail brake.
The electrodynamics brake is the main operational type of brakes, which provides recuperation of the electrical power.
CAR BODY
The car body has steel - welded structure, made of bent profiles with outside steel casing. The body has modern shape and wide windows, providing light exposure of interior and review .
For quick and convenient exit and entrance of passengers the tramcar is equipped with five doors of a planning design.
Heating of the passenger's room is made with reactive heating elements, located within the side walls of the tramcar. The driver's cabin is heated and ventilated by virtue of a separate unit. The tramcar is equipped with comfortable seats. Lighting of the passengers' room is provided with fluorescent lamps.
ELECTRIC EQUIPMENT KPTT - 2
The tramcar uses traction electric motors with individual ventilation. The traction drive has a converter, with modern powerful IJBT-transistors, which ensures separate operation of carts.
Electric equipment of the tramcar is provided with a safety system against skidding and slippage. As a result, operation safety during braking is improved with simultaneous reduction of wear and tear of the wheels.
To charge the battery and to provide 24 V current circuits supply, a static converter PCC 820/28-160; the converter guarantees high operation reliability.
